Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18-19  (NIV)

I’m going to stay with the cyber theme that I used in my last blog post.  https://mvarga.com/life-inspiration/let-go-of-the-mouse/ Many times when our computer starts behaving in ways we can’t understand. “Why won’t it do what I’m asking? This is how I’ve always done it!” Many times we just need to reboot to get everything working properly again. Time to hit the restart button.

Our lives end up like that occasionally. We need a reset to get everything back on track. Are we spending all of our time and energy on an issue we can’t resolve ourselves? Are we racking our brain for a solution to a problem that’s beyond our control?

We do have a heavenly Father who loves us and wants the best for our life. Why not start with Him first? Ask Him for a reset in our career..our relationship..our body..our confidence..our mindset. It’s okay to ask. Just be sure to let go of the mouse as we wait for His direction.

He may be leading us to a different AND better way of doing things. We shouldn’t get stuck in the way we’ve ALWAYS done it!

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2  ( NIV)

Remember, it’s His perfect will…not ours. It’s also His perfect timing…not right now please!

We spend most of our lives waiting for something. We wait daily for traffic signals, cooking times, dinner reservations, friends to arrive… We relinquish our control of the timing, or it can drive us batty!

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

Romans 8:25  (NIV)

We also wait for finances to change, relationships to change, circumstances to change. In order for those changes to happen, sometimes we need to reboot. We need to look at our situation with new eyes.

Just like a computer reboot, we need to approach our situation with a different outlook. What can we personally change to get the outcome we’re hoping for? Has our life become so routine that we don’t even look for ways to improve it?

In my blog post about being uncomfortable, https://mvarga.com/lifeinspiration/uncomfortable/ I talk about all change being uncomfortable, but also the only way to actually grow. We need to step outside of our comfort zone to see what the Lord has in store for us.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,

and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 16:3  (NIV)

Like everything that happens in our life, take it first to God in prayer. Maybe He wants to show us a different way we haven’t tried before. Or perhaps He’s just telling us to wait with hope and with our eyes on Him!

Many times that calls for a change in our perspective…a REBOOT!

Dear Lord,

We are all creatures of habit. Sometimes the way we do things isn’t working anymore. Give us the wisdom to look for ways we could change our routine (and thinking).

Just because life isn’t happening to our specific needs and desires DOESN’T mean it’s no longer doing as it’s supposed to.

Give us the courage to try different ways to arrive at our designated finish line.
